THEORETICAL AND APPLIED ASPECTS OF COGNITIVE TERMINOGRAPHY

The cognitive development of terminology has had a significant impact on its conclusions and practical terminological work. One example of this is terminography – a scientific and practical approach to terminology whose core element is the description and tools for compiling terminological dictionaries. A new stage in the science and the compilation of specialized vocabulary was marked by cognitive terminography, a theoretical framework directly linked to the foundations of traditional and cognitive terminology. The works of outstanding Russian terminologists, lexicographers O.V. Alexandrova, A.S. Gerd, E.I. Golovanova, S.V. Kiseleva, Z.I. Komarova, V.M. Leichik, V.F. Novodranova, A.Ya. Shaikevich and other researchers remain an indispensable source for the formation of fundamental foundations for activities aimed at constructing a terminographic model that includes lexicographic parameters demonstrating the cognitive elements of the terminological sphere. This article analyzes the theoretical and practical foundations of cognitive terminography – the science of designing specialized vocabulary that takes into account the cognitive aspects of terminology. Particular attention is paid to the subject, object, goals, and objectives of this new scientific field, as well as the object of lexicography, format, and logic of the macro- and microstructure of specialized resources. The paper formulates a working definition of cognitive terminography and presents its problems and prospects. Digital transformation in matters of formalized knowledge demonstration is of great importance in expanding the logic and scope of practical terminology, the composition of specialized vocabulary, the diversification of its sources, the general principles of resource organization, and the anthropocentric nature of terminographic work.
