The article examines the representing the slot “Personal Security” within the concept of SAFETY/SECURITY through the prism of cognitive linguistics approach. Central attention is given to studying the structure and functioning of concepts that represent various types of threats and methods of ensuring security. It reveals the dynamics of changes in perception of the SAFETY/SECURITY concept from traditional perspective focused solely on state protection towards modern anthropocentric approach (“human security”). Special interest lies in examining the structure of frames forming an integral representation of risk situations and protective measures. For analysis, methodological approaches of cognitive linguistics are used, including identification of conceptual components and their interaction during communication. Social, economic, and legal aspects are also considered.
