ON THE SYSTEMACITY OF COMPUTER TERMINOLOGY

This article is devoted to the problem of determining the systemacity of computer terminology. Computer terminology is currently the subject of the most intensive linguistic study. Originally existing as a highly specialized vocabulary related to computing and computer science, computer terminology has expanded significantly in recent years and is actively used in various situations of communication. Like any industry terminology, computer terminology is a complex entity organized into a structure that includes subsystems distinguished by different criteria. The concept of "computer" here is the core of the semantic structure in which the terms are organized thematically, while there are semantic links between them. In the given study, the terminological system is considered as a set of terms naturally formed in the process of development of a certain branch of knowledge, having a certain structure of links between its elements, the interrelation and interdependence of which is a direct consequence of the systemic organization of scientific knowledge. On the example of computer terminology, the article examines the problem of the polysemy of a term, describes the semantic relations between terms, such as synonymy and antonymy. The main semantic categories of computer terminology are presented.
