Introduction and stating the problem. This section of the study highlights its relevance, which is due to the need to systematize the accumulated knowledge about the relationship between language, thinking and culture from the point of view of different linguistic disciplines: cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, psycholinguistics. The purpose of the study is to identify the main achievements in the field of conceptual research with-in these disciplines. Methodology and sources. To achieve this goal, the works of such researchers as V. I. Karasik, A. A. Zalevskaya, I. A. Sternin, G. G. Slyshkin and others were studied; the approaches and points of view represented in them were summarized and systematized. Results and discussion. The main relevant research directions were highlighted: the study of concepts as units of the national conceptual sphere; the functional aspect of the concept's existence; the relationship of national, social and individual in the concept; semantic changes in terms of their reflection to the cognitive system of native speakers; the relationship between the word, meaning and concept; the ambiguity of words and its reflection on the mental level. Special attention was paid to the conceptual processing of imported concepts based on lexical borrowings, using examples from different languages. Conclusion. The conclusion is made about the prospects of conceptual research and the need to study the concept as a dynamic element, which is especially relevant in the era of globalization, when the concept is studied not only as a reflection of the national conceptual sphere, but also in the context of the impact of cultures on each other. In this case, the concept is transferred (imported) from one culture to another, undergoing adaptation processes and being transformed under the influence of the characteristics of another culture. Studying the processes of embedding a concept in another culture can be useful for cross-cultural communication, and is also a source of knowledge about the general trends of change in the multicultural and multimodal world (within the framework of the processes of globalization and glocalization), the unique features of conceptualizing the reality of individual cultures.
