THE POETIC WORD OF THE URALS ABOUT THE MOTHERLAND AND ABOUT THE WAR

The unique publications of the Central Ural Book Publishing House, which have become the subject of research in this article, reveal the role of that "soft power", which reflects the special qualities of the character of the Uralians, who created outstanding works of art along with the legendary industrial power of their region. In the historical and modern context, in the irreconcilable confrontation of moral aspirations and the thirst for profit, the difficult fate of the rich and beautiful Ural region is presented in L. Fedorov's book "Evil Saturn" (1981). The heroic work of reconstructing the construction of new buildings of the Pervouralsky New Tube Plant in the early years of the Great Patriotic War was reflected in the original edition of the book by B.A. Putilov "Fyodor Danilov Calendar" (1977). Creativity of Ural poets who were participants of the Great Patriotic War (Poets of the Urals. Anthology in 2 volumes 1976), creates a multifaceted image of a "man at war", including not only the heroic and at the same time tragic side of great events, but also philosophical reflections on the place of man in the world, the value of life and goodness, the role of the "iron and steel" Urals in the main battles of the Great Patriotic War, about the beauty and eternity of nature. The designer and illustrator of the publications mentioned in the article was a graphic artist, a participant in the war G.I. Ketov, who left a diary album "Journey from Yekaterinburg to Moscow" (2006), reflecting in word and line the features of his creative laboratory, his vision of the world through images-symbols coming from childhood, tragic events and at the same time vivid meetings and an infinite variety of colors of life.
