The article deals with the philosophy of Russian cosmism as a worldview of the Russian cultural and historical type, a cosmosophical ideal that sets the cultural codes of Russian civilization. A distinction is made between the interpretation of Russian cosmism as a sociocultural phenomenon and its natural-scientific variety, which appeared as an ideological justification for the formation of astronautics. The methodology of the historical-systemic approach makes it possible to reveal the relevance of a broad interpretation of Russian cosmism in order to search for a single socio-cultural narrative. The modern development of the worldview component of Russian cosmism involves the construction of a holistic picture of the world as a synthesis of science, philosophy and religion. Based on the methodology of system-structural analysis of the works of the classics of Russian philosophy (Solovyov, Florensky, Berdyaev, etc.), ontological and epistemological foundations of a holistic picture of the world are distinguished. The emphasis is on the work of N. Lossky, who combines a scientist, philosopher and religious thinker in one person. It is concluded that the construction of a unified picture of the world, carried out within the framework of philosophical discourse, is possible with the realization that the paradigm of Russian cosmism, the world as an organic whole, is closer to the truth than the utilitarian-positivist doctrine that still prevails in science. In the conditions of the modern global civilizational breakdown, the teaching of philosophy, in particular Russian philosophy, which combines modern scientific ideas and the religious beliefs of its creators, becomes an urgent need for the educational process of a specialist based on traditional values.
