This review focuses on the university textbook "Fundamentals of Public Relations Theory," prepared by A. D. Krivonosov, O. G. Filatova, and M. A. Shishkina, scholars of the St. Petersburg School of PR. It is noted that, in the face of uncertainty and threats to information security, studying the processes occurring today in the communications sphere has become a crucial task for Russian science and education. The scientific novelty of this publication stems from the authors' approach to distinguishing between the concepts of PR tools and technologies, as well as the products and results of PR activities. Based on the comprehensive nature of public relations, the authors emphasize the priority of PR's informational foundations, emphasizing its close connection with related communications professions.
